SpareMusic is a distribution company helping indie artists and labels publish their music to online stores such as Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube. We work with over 15,000 artists across the globe and have big ambitions over the next year! We plan to launch a number of new services this year that will offer more value to those we work with as well as refining and optimising our current services.

We’re looking to hire a Content Manager to work within our Content Operations team.

About the Job

Working with our Head of Content Operations, you’ll assist in the management of assets currently under management by the company. Your primary responsibilities will be to manage our operational queue. This includes; mapping music to the correct artist profile on a variety of stores, removing releases from stores, managing pitches to the various DSPs we work with and ensuring that all content under management adheres to the various metadata style guidelines enforced by stores.

From time to time you may help review incoming content and ensure it meets all of our requirements as well as communicating with customers ensuring they’re always in the loop!

Our whole company works remotely, and you will be too! This is a part-time position initially but will expand to full-time real soon!

About You

  • You must have experience working in the music industry. This can be as an artist manager, label owner or have worked within a music distribution company before.
  • You must be self-sufficient, work indecently and be super organised! You must be a fluent English speaker and writer. You’ll write a lot – we mean it!
  • You must have experience using tools such as Trello, Notion, Intercom and/or other project management and customer support tools.
  • Knowledge of the various DSP Style guidelines is a plus as well as familiarity with a content management system such as AudioSalad. These are “nice to haves” but ultimately aren’t required. We’ll teach you everything you need to know.

Your First Month

We want to hit the ground running on the first day. You’ll get a shiny new MacBook Air and an external monitor to work with. We’ll also buy you anything you else you need to work. We’ll set you up with everything you need to get the job done and walk you through the basics. You’ll work closely with our Head of Operations to gain an understanding into how operations at the company work and you’ll read through all of our internal documentation.

We have a number of projects lined up for when you feel confident and happy to take one on. We support each other every step of the day so if you ever need help, just reach out!
